Venue of the Week: The Study at Yale – A Hidden Gem

If you are planning a corporate cocktail reception, private party or intimate wedding and looking for a downtown New Haven location, look no further than The Study. Located in the heart of Yale’s Art Campus, this urban chic boutique hotel has a couple of different spaces to host events.

The Gallery on the first floor is mostly used for meetings, with a capacity for up to 150 theater style. But, with some imagination and creativity, the Gallery could be easily transformed into something more fun or elegant. The understated decor and neutral pallette allows you to add whatever color scheme you want  (that’s right, no bright and bold hotel carpet to work with here) so bring on the color, add some lighting, lounge furniture, whatever you want and make it your own unique party space.

If you want a room with a view, then check out the The Penthouse Lounge. The lounge offers amazing views over the Yale campus through its floor to ceiling windows, and black leather banquettes and dark wooden floors help create a classy and sophisticated look. It is ideal for a corporate cocktail reception – I can’t think of a nicer place in New Haven to go for an after work gathering or to welcome out of town colleagues.

And, of course, with catering provided by The Study’s onsite restaurant, Heirloom, you know the food will be exquisite.
